I had never been to this place before and my girlfriend mentioned that someone from her work told her to check it out. We came over and got a table, she had a Filet 8oz cut and I got the ribeye 16oz cut. You cook it on a 700 degree volcanic rock and it really makes for a great experience. But what REALLY puts it over the top, great service. We had Tiffany as a server and she was the life of the party!! Great personality, patient with questions, fun for conversation and yet still managed not to hover or be overbearing. Hands down, service makes the experience at this place and she is the center of the great service!! If you go, ask for Tiffany. You won't be disappointed! Also try the creamed corn. It's not crushed corn, it's whole kernel and cooked with bacon, it's awesome!
So, went for date night. Had gotten mixed reviews from family and friends. But we like to make up our own minds.
Thursday night was pretty slow. The idea of cook your steak the way you like it seemed interesting. It made me thing of Melting Pot. Which we like, but model based on cooking your own food.
Overall experience alright. Nothing exciting. We had French onion soup, blue cheese salad and felit with coconut shrimp and the black rock cut sirloin. Everything was alright. Nothing exciting. If I was to choose this or Melting Pot. I would lean for Melting Pot.
Not sure we would go back for the price... It leaves you a little short on experience and quality.

Food was great. We didn't get a picture but the soup "flight" was fun and they all tasted great. Service was on point and we never waited for our waitress to bring us anything.
Like most places in the Tampa area, if you can make reservations, Do It! During normal business hours this place is busy busy so either come early or make a reservation!

Today we celebrated my wife's Birthday at Black Rock! It was absolutely amazing! The steaks were cooked to perfection, (but of course we cooked them on the Black Rocks)!
They treated my wife with an amazing birthday volcano!
Cameron treated us well! He made sure we understood how we received our food, and taught us how to cook on the black stone!
Ask for him when you come in!

The thing I love about Black Rock is it is just a unique dining experience. Cooking on the lava stone (which is the only way to cook the entrées there) is wonderful. We even cooked our rock lobster tails on it. Everything comes with this delicious Herb butter to cook it in, and there are flavorful sauces a-plenty. We were there on New Year's Eve and the one thing I have to say that I was not happy about is the fact that at 5:15 they were already out of crab legs. Granted they have a really good deal on crab legs but it was New Year's Eve. They said it was a supply chain issue and that's probably true, however for New Year's Eve you would think they would have marked the menus or let people know that it was not available. The crab legs dinner was $30 but they had a 1/2 pound add-on for $10.99 which 3 of our table members had ordered. I do truly appreciate how they handled it, they allowed us to purchas. e the Lobster tails instead as an add-on item. We were there early enough to take advantage of the $8.99 appetizers and had the lobster dip with pita and it was delicious. Also, I definitely recommend the sip flight. I had the chili the lobster best and the French onion soup and all of it was delicious My 80 Year old father who is the grill master of the universe, absolutely loved It, as we all did.
