STAY AWAY! The “care” I received here on Sunday night was horrific. I can’t believe they have not been shut down.
I came in for a dog bite and a fractured finger. There was no wait to be seen so I was hopeful this would be an easy visit. 5 hours later I was discharged without even an antibiotic or any wound care. The communication was comical. First I was just going to be sutured up and then I was going to be admitted and have surgery the next day and then I was shuffled to the public waiting room with an IV port in my arm until finally I was discharged with a bloody bandage and a stack of paperwork.
No sterile environment protocol.
No continuity of care.
Now it has been 2 days and I cannot get the hospital affiliated doctor’s office to call me back to schedule this surgery that I was getting admitted overnight to do! I am positive my finger will be healed before they call back! Unbelievable lack of care for a simple injury. I can’t image how someone would be treated if they really needed care.
Take the time and drive to downtown this hospital is a lawsuit waiting to happen!

Dr. Akhil Patel and Dr. Vegas Brown were amazing. My needs were quickly attended to. My pain was not ignored and I was given many options to help manage my acute pain. My medication and imaging orders were placed promptly. Nursing was sometimes a bit slow to aid and I never had one consistent nurse, which sometimes backed things up because I had to explain my symptoms all over again. Overall, the ED docs were fantastic and I felt very safe and cared for despite having a frightening diagnosis requiring surgery.

DO NOT COME HERE DURING SHIFT CHANGE. YOU MAY NOT RECEIVE THE CRITICAL CARE YOU NEED.
I visited the ER on October 22, 2024, due to severe bleeding following an outpatient procedure. My husband rushed inside to get help, and a nurse promptly brought me in and took me straight to a room. The nurse informed us that my condition was serious, and assured us that I would receive immediate care. Unfortunately, we arrived during shift change, which turned out to be a critical oversight.
From the start, staff repeatedly told us they had contacted the on-call OBGYN, who was "on the way." We were told "20 more minutes" multiple times, despite my continued, active bleeding. Despite asking multiple times why I hadn't yet been seen by the OB, we received only reassurances that they were on their way.
They were not on the way.
I bled for 45 minutes to an hour, saturating the bed and sheets. I eventually became weak and disoriented from blood loss. When the OB finally arrived, she positioned me with my head below my pelvis—a response that should have been much more immediate. By that point, I passed out and coded. I flatlined.
Thankfully, a compassionate male nurse immediately began chest compressions, saving my life. I am deeply grateful to him.
Due to this severe negligence, I requested my upcoming surgery be scheduled at a different hospital. It is clear that the shift change chaos and lack of urgency nearly cost me my life. I lost a tremendous amount of blood that could have been addressed sooner had staff acted instead of delaying care.
At the advice of others, we are filing a formal complaint with the Joint Commission and consulting an attorney.
PLEASE do not come here in an emergency, especially during shift change.
Additionally, I am awaiting my bill to be posted, as I have already paid in full to meet my insurance deductible. I hope the hospital processes this promptly so I can focus on my health and my fight against cancer.

The nurse and doctor treated me horribly. They tried to put me in a room that was like a 4x4 then lied and said they had no bigger rooms available, that was a lie because 3 ppl came behind and got a room. They did no service to me but take urine to tell me I pregnant. I went there to complain about bad abdominal cramps throughout the right side of my body. The doctor came in a side your pregnant and have an UTI and then I was given my discharge paperwork. My cramps lasted for about 2 weeks and then the hurricane came and hit. I made another appt with a clinic and was given an ultrasound and found out I was 8 weeks pregnant with an ectopic pregnancy. Had to get an ER surgery but if HCA would have performed the correct procedures and actually treated me they would have caught it earlier then different measures could have been taken In my situation. I would never return to this facility and I would tell my family and friends the same.

I was in the ICU for 4 days. Some of the nurses were very attentive. Some were not. My glasses were broken when being admitted by the nurses who stripped and bathed me. No one woukd address the issue. I brought the subject up to both the nurses and social worker and they said there was nothing they could do. I went to my pharmacy once released and they are missing one of my prescriptions.
